Welcome

College Gate Clinic is community-based, multi-disciplinary healthcare facility based on the Ballymun Road across the road from the back entrance of DCU, North Dublin, incorporating an extensive range of highly qualified health professionals.

We strive to provide the best possible service to all patients in a warm and friendly environment. We believe that a community should know their healthcare professionals and their healthcare professionals should know them.

Dr Shafrizan Tajri

MB BCh BAO DCH MRCSI MICGP

Dr Shafrizan Tajri graduated from the School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin with Honours in 2001. His training began in St James Hospital, Dublin and he then rotated between St Vincents, St Colmcille’s and St Michael’s hospitals. He also worked in Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin and The National Children’s Hospital in Tallaght and obtained the Diploma in Children’s Health (DCH).

He holds memberships of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MRCSI) and the Irish College of General Practitioners (MICGP). Dr Tajri joined College Gate Clinic in 2009 and worked alongside Dr Oliver McHugh until his retirement. His areas of interests include paediatrics, men’s health and management of chronic diseases.

Dr Shafrizan Tajri

Dr Intan Besri

MB BCH BAO MICGP

Dr Intan Besri qualified from University College Dublin in 2001. Following her internship in St James Hospital she rotated around the Dublin Hospitals before working in General Practice. Dr Besri holds membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners (MICGP). She has worked alongside many GPs in North Dublin and has gained vast experience in General Practice.

Dr Besri joined Dr Oliver McHugh at the College Gate Clinic in 2009. Her personal interests are in the areas of women’s health, sexual health and geriatrics.

Dr Aliya Rahim

MBBS, HDGO, MICGP

Dr Aliya Rahim graduated from Khyber Medical College (University of Peshawar), Pakistan, in 1994. She initially finished her training in General Medicine and General Surgery with a special interest in Cardiology from Pakistan and then trained in obstetrics and Gynaecology in Pakistan.

She moved to Ireland in 1998 and joined University College Dublin (UCD) where she did her Higher Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She worked as a community Gynaecologist after that and during her post as a community Gynaecologist provided training to general practitioners and nurses in community gynaecology.

In 2007, she started to work in General Practice and did her MICGP from Irish College of General Practitioners in 2014. As well as the above, she has special interests in paediatrics, chronic disease, alcohol and drug misuse and occupational health. Dr Aliya has specialist registration with Irish Medical Council and is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners.

The Doctor is seeing clients for free Botox consultations in the evening, by request.

Dr Aliya Rahim

MBBS, HDGO, MICGP
