Fiona Gannon — Herbalist

Medical Herbalists are dedicated herbal practitioners with specialist university training combining orthodox medical knowledge and skills with a scientific understanding of plant medicines.

Fiona Gannon qualified as a Medical Herbalist from Napier University, Edinburgh in 2007. In 2009, she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Studies from Edinburgh University and attained a Masters in Immunology and Global Health from NUI Maynooth in 2014. 

Fiona is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists which is the oldest governing body of Medical Herbalist in the UK and a member of the Irish Medical Herbalists Organisation.

Herbal Medicine treats the root cause not just the symptoms using herbs, diet and lifestyle to achieve this.  It can treat and manage a wide range of conditions. Fiona’s special interests include Chronic illnesses, Immune related issues, Inflammation, Women’s Health, Children’s Health, Fertility, Digestive Health as well as emotional and mental health.

Evelyn O’Connell — Psychotherapist

B.Sc. Counselling and Psychotherapy, Dip. Counselling and Psychotherapy

Languages: English and Spanish

Evelyn has a background in general nursing. She received her Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy through PCI College and subsequently her B.Sc. in Counselling and Psychotherapy through Middlesex University. She is a pre-accredited member of the IACP. She follows the IACP code of ethics for best practice.

Evelyn provides a warm, safe, empathic and confidential environment for you to explore and move forward through personal difficulties.

Evelyn uses various methods including:

  • Person centred approach
  • Humanistic approach
  • Pastoral and spiritual counselling
  • Solution focused therapy
  • Body and psychotherapy

Sessions last 50 minutes and clients are encouraged to attend weekly sessions for the first 6 weeks to provide movement during therapy. Progress will be reviewed with the therapist on a regular basis to help clients meet their needs.

Damien McCaul — Psychotherapist

Damien is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (IICP), holding a Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, and has also recently completed the BA Honours Programme in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy at IICP.

He is a pre-accredited counsellor with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and adheres to the IACP Code of Ethics in his professional practice. At present, he has over 150 hours of clinical experience, having worked as a therapist at the Village Counselling Service in Tallaght, and at FSN in Finglas. He works integratively combining different approaches as needed covering a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, stress related matters, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, bereavement, self-harm and substance use.

Damien is now available at College Gate Clinic on Saturdays from 2 – 6 pm for therapy sessions to help you with anything that may be impacting on your mental health. If you need a safe, welcoming space where you can be heard, please feel free to phone him or send him a message.
